Summer camp provides leadership opportunities for older youth. Youth leaders are given roles during the week of camp to stretch them and train them for positions of responsibility they will have throughout their lives.
Each ward assigns two young men to serve as the Camp Leader and the Assistant Camp Leader.
Older youth who have attended camp before can be nominated as counselors in training. These youth teach alongside experienced adult instructors for several periods out of the day.
Two young men from each stake are identified by stake leaders to be involved in planning and day-to-day operation of the camp.
